God answers prayers in the most unexpected ways.
My sister and I always dreamed of being pregnant at the same time. When she and her husband got married, they wasted no time trying to start their family. Meanwhile, Marcus and I had more or less decided our family was complete. While they were filled with excitement and anticipation, I quietly mourned the thought that our shared dream of pregnancy together might never come true.

Two years passed, and Kelsey was still waiting for her miracle. Around the same time, Marcus and I decided we would try for our fourth baby—but only after navigating some big life changes and moves we had on the horizon. For the first time in years, it looked like our dream of being pregnant together might actually align. But just as hope sparked, Marcus passed away, and our hearts shattered.

Life felt heavy with grief. Another two years went by, and Kelsey’s family still hadn’t grown. By then, Dustin and I had married, and we announced our pregnancy that Christmas. The joy was overwhelming, and the congratulations flowed—but mixed in were tears from Kelsey, both happy and conflicted. Just two weeks later, the most incredible surprise: Kelsey was expecting too.

In the midst of a journey we could never have predicted, God blessed us with pregnancies only six weeks apart. We got to share every joy and challenge of pregnancy together—the cravings, the sleepless nights, the excitement of first kicks—and even the newborn stage, just as we had always imagined. It was every bit as magical as we had dreamed.

I believe with all my heart that God gives us dreams for a reason. He wants us to hope, to dream, and to hold onto faith, even when life feels beyond our control. Our story is proof that He can answer prayers in ways we don’t expect, even through heartache and loss.

If you have a dream that seems impossible in your current circumstances, don’t give up. Wait, trust, and keep dreaming. God promises to work all things together for good—and I’ve seen it happen.
